Located in an 8,000 square foot facility in Troy Michigan, Preferred Centerless has the capability and capacity to handle all your centerless grinding needs. Our company was created to provide high quality grinding services with exceptional customer service at competitive prices to the industries we serve, with a high level of ethics, fairness, and professionalism.

In 2008, Garry Harreld, founder of Preferred Centerless, decided to put his more-than-36 years of experience in centerless grinding to work by opening his own shop. Starting out as a machine operator, he was promoted to supervisor and then spent 20 years as general manager of a centerless grinding company. 

In starting his own shop, he gathered the best, most talented machine operators and the best equipment he had worked with over the years to provide the quality and service delivery his customers have always expected from him. And now, Preferred Centerless continues to provide that same level of quality and care to its customers today.

Operational Excellence

Preferred Centerless' set up and job tracking processes ensure proper instructions for the machine operators and the ability to record actual production information of the job to ensure quality control and value for the customer.

We have proven customer part receiving, handling and shipping processes to eliminate part damage and to meet delivery dates. We have as a multi-step quality control process at various stages of the job (i.e. first piece inspection, in-process inspection and final inspection) before shipping.

We track the details of the job including what machine the job was run on, the gauges used, the machine operators that worked on it. This allows us to better manage your jobs and changes made over time to your parts.
